“That’s it. I’m done. Declaring my feelings didn’t work. Thanks so much for that terrible advice, Minerva.” Severus said, flopping dejectedly into her office’s sofa.

“Harry wouldn’t have rejected you. He’s crazy about you.”

“I’ll have to move to Bhutan, or somewhere equally far. I can’t face him after this.”

“Don’t be daft.”

“Minerva-

“Your so-called declaration was ridiculously subtle, wasn’t it?”

“I-

“And now you’re wallowing in typical Slytherin melodrama.”

“There’s no such thing as Slytherin melodrama.”

“That’s a matter of opinion.”

“Don’t you-

“Oh, shush!”

“Minerva!”

“What?  Harry loves you. You love him. Just kiss him, you, idiot!”

Minerva certainly has outlined the most straightforward strategy to solve Severus' problem. Hopefully, he'll listen to her. He'll definitely get his man with a minimum fuss if he does. :)

LOL. Severus probably spluttered in outrage or something equally melodramatic, but I think he secretly loved Minerva's idea and is planning to put it into action as soon as humanly possible. ;)

Yes. I definitely can see Severus being so subtle that poor Harry ended up scratching the back of his head in one of those epic WTF? moments that are probably the norm among people who deal with Slytherins on a regular basis.

I love Minerva when she's being all out Gryffindor: in your face but still your friend.
And now you’re wallowing in typical Slytherin melodrama. Uh-huh. That. :D Severus can deny as much as he wants. There is even a subtle proof that Slytherin melodrama is very much a real thing. Severus must really be thrown off course. Poor thing - at least he has a good friend who has known him long enough to be able to understand and speak 'Slytherin'.

Hello there, teryarel. It's lovely to hear from you, my dear friend. I hope RL is treating you well, and that the cold that's started to descend upon me hasn't yet managed to reach you. :)

Meddling, good friend!Minerva is one of my all-time favourite supporting characters to use with Severus. I can see them as very close friends, despite the house-related rivalry they always showed in canon. I think Severus needs someone like this, a no-nonsense sort of friend who is willing to be the Gryffindor voice of his courage when it decides to be too Slytherin for Severus' own good.
