Severus Snape smiles softly as he locks his classroom's door on Friday afternoons, obviously delighted by the prospect of a student-free weekend.

That barely-there, gorgeously shy smile has stolen Harry's heart, bringing him face to face with the fact that he's in love with its owner. He dreams constantly about kissing it into full-blown laughter and rushes down the crowded corridors every Friday just to bump into Severus.

“Have a great weekend, Professor Snape.” He greets softly, sighing with besotted longing as that beautiful smile comes to life before his eyes.

“Thank you. Have a great weekend yourself, Professor Potter.”

Awww! It's rather bittersweet since neither man seems willing to do anything about their infatuation just yet, but lovely nonetheless.
I am now hoping to see the drabble where Harry finally does kiss him. :)

I agree with you on the point that this story is bittersweet, ali. I wanted to explore that pre-relationship stage, when you know you are in love and spend every second day-dreaming about that special someone, but haven't yet gathered the confidence to approach the star of those dreams.

I can't promise you a sequel for this one, since I tend to avoid writing series like the plague, but... IF there is a prompt I can use to move this forwards and I think I can do it in 100 words, I'll try.

hummmm... They are definitely not together, Soleo. I don't know if they will get together soon or if that will turn out to be a long and difficult process, since I only envisioned this scene as part of their pre-relationship dance around one another.

I'm thrilled that you enjoyed my use of the word 'besotted'. I've been told before that my word choices can be a tad old-fashioned sometimes...

LOL. I think all of us are wishing that they get together, and knowing Harry as well as we do, he won't be able to keep himself from charging into action one of these days, so... who knows? that kiss he keeps dreaming about might become glorious reality sooner than we think! ;)

Yes, it was a bit bittersweet. But we all know Harry, right? So we know that he will do everything to be with Severus, to see him smiling. I don't need a sequel to this, I can say what was next:
One Friday Harry went to Severus' room with a bottle of good Firewhisky and said "Hope we could have a great weekend together". And they had. Not only weekend but all live.

LOL. I actually agree with your take on this one, myk. We all know Harry indeed. Of course it won't be long before his inner Gryffindor takes over and demands that he at least try to make a move on his man.

I like the idea that he'll come bearing gifts to Sev's room one evening. Let's hope that Severus is feeling receptive enough to let him in. ;)
