Summary: Harry Potter dances twice around Severus Snape before the Slytherin realizes that they are meant to dance together...

Dance Around Me.

The first time Harry Potter kissed him Severus assumed he was drunk. The man corralled him outside the Great-Hall, pecked his cheek rather bashfully and whispered:
“Have sweet dreams of me, Severus...”

The second time it happened he'd been celebrating the New Year. Potter bumped into him, kissed his mouth reverently and said:
“May your year be joyful, my dear.”

Severus finally understood when the Gryffindor snogged him during his birthday celebration.
“Potter!” He spluttered, aghast.

“Come and dance with me, Severus. Make my dreams come true...”

“I see... Lead the way, then. I'd love to... dance... with you, Harry.”

Harry was almost being subtle for a Gryffindor! He waited a while to come right out and ask Severus to join him. Showing Severus this wasn't just some kind of one off he's wanted him for along time.

And what a lovely birthday present he ended up giving Harry. Dreams come true isn't something easily found.

LOL. Yes, Harry was being uncommonly subtle in this one. Maybe even too subtle... I agree with you on the point that Severus can't possibly argue with his declaration of interest after having been on the receiving end of this sort of behavior for a while.

I must confess that I did miss you last week, my friend. I hear you about the misery of long train rides, although my main gripe with travelling usually has to do with long airport waiting hours...

I think the tango will definitely be the perfect dance for these two and I love to see them dancing, too, so... looks like we are both equally happy that Severus accepted that invitation to dance.

Yes, Severus can be painfully thick sometimes when it comes to matters of the heart, fortunately Harry seems to have learned at some point that giving a Slytherin some patience can have unexpected rewards, so... they'll both be OK in the end.
