Harry wakes at four-thirty every morning for a very simple purpose. He doesn't watch the sunrise dreamily. Doesn't exercise or corrects student's essays. He watches Severus Snape eat a chocolate-frosted cupcake in the staff-room instead.
Watching Severus' eyes close in rapture as he savours his treat makes him breathless with desire.
He's beginning to despise frosted-cupcakes. He's in love. In lust. Enthralled.
“I'd feed you cupcakes in bed...”
Severus snorts, incredulous.
“Go away, Potter.”
“I can't. I love you.”
“That's impossible.”
“It's true. I'm... sincerely yours.”
“Sincerely?”
Harry smiles tenderly as his heart flutters with hope.
“Yes, my love. Yours.”

we had 40-60 MPH wind gusts yesterday and the mailbox blew off the post! it was amazing! and of course we lost a few palm fronds too, but that's normal. (i'm in houston, and the weather is changable as always, but i'm happy we didn't get enough cold to kill any plants this year. yay! :D

I think the few flowers shoots that had started peeking out of the grass by my front door are probably dead by now, though. But at least it sounds as if these storms are finally over and I can relax once more in front of my computer and laugh with you about your new avatar. It is seriously funny.
I think you are right when you say it suits you better than the kitten. Your reviews are usually filled with a beautiful sense of humor, so yeah... I have no problem imagining you as a funny viking octopus ;D

(the biggest problem we have when it gets windy is finding a place for the little dog to do her business, she doesn't want the WIND blowing up her rear! *G*)

Let's just say I was breathless right along with Harry. I could clearly see Severus licking the chocolate frosting from those pale fingers...*g*
Second is the use of the word 'sincerely'. There is a personal reason I have it in all of my user names. I would have had it on Insane Journal as well, but it was already taken. I can honestly say reading two things that are important to me brought together in one story just made me melt.
*sighs*
Also seeing Harry break through Severus' defenses with his simple but powerful declaration of love was very moving, as was Severus' tentative question to test the waters.

I must confess that I'm a terrible baker. My cookies are usually rock-hard and my cupcakes are small and misshapen, but I do bake a mean brownie, so I can't complain too much.
I always thought that the word sincerely would mean a lot to Severus, too. I'm thrilled that you found this drabble beautiful. Thanks so much for taking the time to both read it and send me such a lovely comment. Take care for now! :)
