Summary: Occlumency is a mentally -and magically- exhausting spell.

Controlled Descent.

Occlumency is a weapon, a shield meant to be wielded sparingly. Severus knows the spell is mentally and magically exhausting, but the relief it grants him is too irresistible to ration.

Magical fatigue is a small price to pay for regaining control of himself. Peace of mind is worth everything.
