Summary: Severus watches and waits, wondering if Potter will ever grow the balls to finish this game he’s started.
 

Playing It Safe.

Severus watches Potter rush towards him, and wonders if the brat understands why he loiters at day’s end outside St. Mungo’s laboratory, where no healer should be.

“Done for today, Master Snape?” Potter asks, flashing him that shy, adoring smile that promises so much.

“Yes.” Severus responds, daring to smile in return. He’s no innocent. He understands the concept of attraction, and ponders whether he’d be excited or terrified when-if Potter ever grows the balls to finish this game he’s started.

“Good night, then.” Potter plays it safe for another day, and Severus’ smile dims with disappointment.

“Good night, Potter.”

True. Harry's famous Gryffindor side seems to have taken a back seat for now. I'm sure it'll resurface soon, and then Severus will have to decide how to feel about starting a proper relationship with him.

True. Either of them could make that first move, that's all they need to do. I have the feeling that it's not going to be Severus, though. Harry will have to un-dust his inner Gryffindor if he wants to get his man. :)

LOL. True. This is definitely a matter of when they get together rather than if they get there. Harry is taking his time about it, and Severus seems to be in the mood to wait for him, so it may take them a little while, but they'll get there eventually.

Oh wow Harry can you be anymore clueless? FIX IT! I love how we see it all from Severus' POV. However, it looks like Severus' patience is wearing a little thin.

I think neither Harry nor Severus will manage to survive the Status Quo for long; Harry will probably break first though since he is the more impatient of the two. ;)
