Molly’s Wisdom.

“Harry, come rescue Arthur from Severus’ wrath.” Molly pleaded. “They’re literally going to war over the ministry’s decision to make Muggle Studies mandatory at Hogwarts.”

“Figuratively.” Harry corrected, walking towards her.

“What was that?”

“They’re going to war figuratively. Severus wouldn’t wage a literal war against Arthur.”

“Merlin! You sound just like him.”

“Well, it’s been three years already.”

Molly eyed him thoughtfully. “You should marry him, dear.”

Harry halted mid-step. “I can’t. Severus isn’t ready.”

“But you are?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Then say something. Marry him anyway. Don’t let Severus’ monsters become yours, or they’ll defeat you both, Harry.”

I've always imagined that Molly, having been so happy in her marriage, would do everything in her power to make sure that all her children and closest friends will be similarly blessed. :)

LOL. Molly is very sensible indeed, and Harry definitely should listen, but he should also proceed with caution since he's dealing with Severus here... I'm sure Harry will eventually find the right balance between those two extremes, and then he'll be running all the way to the altar, poor Severus in tow. ;)

I agree with you on the point that an outsider's opinion was needed to push the boys further, and Molly, being Harry's mother figure, was not only perfectly placed to offer it, but also delighted to do so.
