Severus was outraged that Minerva had dared sign him up -and then forced him to attend- this ridiculous speed-dating soiree. He'd managed to petrify everyone who'd approached him so far into blessed disinterest with a single, hard, smile and a softly-delivered question:
“What's your stance on cannibalism?  I'm very fond of it.”

He'd known his tactic wouldn't terrify Potter, but he'd never imagined he'd be the one left squeaking when the brat gave him a scorching once-over and a come-hither purr:
“I'd eat you out-I mean 'up' in a flash, Headmaster. I'm very fond of...No. I'm positively passionate about you.”

How on earth did Minerva get him to attend in the first place? Blackmail, surely; the meddling, old cat...
Because, there is Harry. And no matter how tight-lipped and sharp-tongued Severus might present himself, Harry will cut right to the heart of it - and of Severus - and go for it - and Severus' heart. ^^

LOL. I think Severus wasn't being truthful here, but I doubt that he was joking. He wanted to scare his suitors away, after all. ;D

I agree with you on the point that Minerva must have used blackmail to get him there but, I like to think that her intentions are what counts and she was probably helping Harry get his man, which he did, of course, because there's no way on Earth that our dear Sev could have managed to resist a proposition like that one, is there? ;D
