“This better be important.”  Severus growled and Harry lost every precious shred of courage he possessed.

“I—I...”  'Say it.  Just say it.  Open your mouth and... confess.  What's the worst that could happen?'  “I'll faint.  Or squeak.  Or faint and squeak and he'll laugh so hard he'll choke on his own laughter and die.”

Severus blinked.
"Excuse me?”

“I 'L' you.”  Harry stammered and Severus blinked again.

“That doesn't make any sense.”

“Fine!  I-er... Love. You.”

“That doesn't make sense, either.”

Potter chuckled nervously.
“Love rarely does, Severus, so... coffee?”

Severus fidgeted, suddenly equally nervous:
“I prefer tea, Harry.”

LOL. True, Harry has a tendency to blurt out whatever is crossing his mind when he's nervous. It helped him nab his Severus, though, so I doubt he's too upset about it. :D

LOL, poor Harry. He seems to be utterly terrified. I can only hope that Severus will be merciful;) Surely he will... even if it is no this obvious but he must be nervous as well. Although he usually bites when nervous... not that it is necessarily a bad thing... LOL.*got a tiny bit carried away*
