Harry sighed, uncomfortably aware of how out of place Severus looked in the glittering ballroom. His austere robes stood out like a sore thumb, creating an island of elegant formality amid richly embroidered frivolity.
“I shouldn't have brought you here. I hate how they look at you.”

“Let them look.”

“You're a decorated hero, Hogwarts' headmaster and a world-renowned potioneer. Nobody has the right to think themselves above you.”

“Harry...”

“I'd put you on a pedestal, if I could.”

“Your respect is pedestal enough.”

Harry laughed, despite himself.
“What about my love, then?”

“That's the cherry on the top, sweetheart.”

Well, I have to disagree: love's not the cherry on the top. It's a whole new pedestal to put someone on.

And it is obvious that one can stand so much better on two legs - err, pedestals. ^^

P.S. I'm just on vacation (at the sea) and enjoy it immensly. I alternate between swimming and reading Snarry! I do hope you'll find some quiet time to enjoy your summer and to replenish those ideas for more stories!

LOL. I suppose that depends of whether you like cherries or not. Pedestals are all well and good, but they keep the people atop them at bay. Good to be admired, but not touched. Cherries, on the other hand, are sweet, edible, and could be used for all kinds of 'naughty games', so... nah. I'll stick with the cherries. ;D

You are vacationing in Croatia? I'm so jealous. I have a long list of places I want to visit and Croatia is definitely on the list. Several close friends of mine have been over there and the pictures they brought home are breathtaking. Swimming and Snarry is the best vacation combo I can imagine, so enjoy it to the full. :D

I've finally reached the quiet time of Summer this year, since most of the bustle that kept me away from fandom last July was my own month-long vacation. I was in the UK for around five days, visiting old friends of mine and then went onto Spain, which is my home country, to spend the rest of the month with my family. It was great, but exhausting, and I sincerely hope you have at least as much fun during your holidays as I had while I was on my own.

LOL. I wrote that summary to be misleading on purpose in the hope of surprising readers. I know that some folks dislike going into a story with certain expectations and not having them fulfilled, but I love being surprised as a reader, and I like to answer my prompts in the most unexpected way I can, so that other people can enjoy the same experience. :D
