It's amazing how you've managed to hit most of my grievances with the HP saga on the head, dracdauter. I've never really liked Ginny's hero-worship of Harry and Ron's cannon tendency to jealousy grates on my nerves something fierce.
Having said that, though, I tend to avoid Weasley-bashing fics like the plague because I prefer to imagine that, no matter what their initial reasons for welcoming Harry into their family were, they ended up genuinely caring for him. Their known close association with Harry put the entire clan in a dangerous situation during the brief period Lord V was in power, after all...
LOL. I'd have loved to read an epilogue featuring a surviving Severus Snape as Harry Potter's partner. I agree with you on the point that it would have been much better all around. :D
I went into a bit of a Snape-ish temper tantrum when I read about Severus' death and ended up picking each and every single one of the seven HP books (both in spanish and english editions) and throwing them directly into the trash in a fit of pique over the uselessness of Sev's death. I wish he had survived, but I can understand why he didn't and I honestly believe his death made him a more memorable character altogether.
I would have been a lot less disappointed if Severus had died Dobby's death instead of his own, though. That single change, right there, would have turned the last book around for me, making it feel a lot less like the disastrous fiasco I thought it was at the time...
