LOL. I don't think Severus was very happy with the idea of being a prince in distress either. He didn't sound all that grateful with regards to Harry's saving efforts, so... I definitely agree with you there.
The part about Harry being an old and battered hero is definitely relative. I'm pretty sure that nobody is going to agree to that either, least of all Severus, but he might decide to accept Harry's offer anyway. Who would pass on the chance of having The One And Only Harry Potter be your own personal hero? Definitely not Severus Snape. He's a Slytherin after all, isn't he? :)
