Hermione will definitely have something to say about Ron's plan, now wouldn't it be amazing if she actually embraced the crazy idea and dragged her poor boyfriend to the piercing parlor on the spot? It might happen, you know? There's s little bit of recklessness to Hermione's character that allows her to surprise me every now and then... :)
