I'm happy to hear that this story managed to make you smile so much. It's true that the boy's dynamic here is slightly different from what I usually write, but I wanted to experiment a bit with the idea of portraying a more... dramatic... Harry.
I don't know why this story reminds you of "The Taming Of The Shrew", but I'm very pleased that it does. I'm a huge fan of Shakespeare, although I prefer his sonnets to his plays. I think I portray them in that slightly old-fashioned way because I can not imagine Severus in any other sort of relationship. He is always so formal and... reticent... to own up to his emotions that I can only picture him like this, I guess.
The bee idea came from a question that one of my on-line friends asked me a while back. She wanted to know what insect did I think that Severus could have been and I wasn't able to answer her on the spot. I thought about it for some time and finally decided to settle on the bee because, although they can be evil tempered and rather frightening when angry, they also bring us the sweet perfection that is honey of their own accord. They are one of the most useful and often vilified insects out there and I think they resemble Severus greatly in that sense. I wrote the first two paragraphs of this story back then and they've been sitting on my hard drive for months, until I finally found a story-line that seemed a perfect match for it. I do that a lot, you know?
I hope that explanation made some sense to you. Thanks, as always, for taking the time to both read and review. Seeing a message from you on my in-box is always lovely.
PS: I love the cute frog icon that you added to your comment. It's so charming that it put the hugest smile on my face! :D Take care for now.
