I agree with you on the point that there is a quietude to this scene that feels very soothing and lovely. It's indeed cozy, and simple, like one of those moments that fill your entire life without you noticing them, but end up being the ones you miss the most when you're far from home.

"(Of course there's more: who is this man Severus talks about? Will Harry (and we) meet him? When will Severus tell Harry that he loves him? Will Lucius be released from Azkaban and deliver his revenge for Severus's punch? Will Harry then have to arrest him and send him back to Azkaban? WIll Draco marry Pansy? And who will be Blaise's partner? Will Nathaniel sort into Slytherin? Where's Minerva, anyway?)' And there she goes again with all the questions. Are you sure you're not a Ravenclaw? I am not telling you the answer to any of this stuff. That would spoil the end of this fic for you and I'm not doing that. You're almost there, anyway. So be PATIENT, teryarel. :D :D :D
