I think the main issue is the lack of proper mourning process for his past romance on Severus’s part. Ah, I hadn't looked at it from this point of view. This is why I love commenting: when the writer can point out what a scene is supposed to show. This does shed a completely new light on this scene for me. Thank you for sharing this. ^^
