"Oh my, you must have gotten such a laugh out of my whining and lamenting about Severus's obliviousness and how I'd have to wait fourteen chapters for relief, just to find it around the corner in the very next chapter. Well, I'm always up for some laughter, even if it's at my own expense. :D" Truth is that everyone was whining about Severus's obliviousness just before this particular update, teryarel. I tend to push Severus's silly behavior until it really feels unbearable for both myself and the readers and, after seven years writing for this ship, I have the timing of it pretty spot on. I don't ever laugh at anyone when the whining starts, but it makes me extra excited to hear what their reaction would be when they finally read the next chapter. It's interesting doing that with you because you are the only person who is behind in this story, so by the time I hear your complaints, I'm already dealing with the reaction to their solution from the rest of the readers. :)

LOL> Of course Severus is willing to admit that he has a crush on Harry. He may be stubborn, but the man isn't blind. Harry is definitely charming enough to dazzle Severus, especially now that Severus is finally giving him the time of day. :D :D :D

" I couldn't keep a straight face reading her reactions. Minerva is so wicked! And she's such a wonderful friend. :) And then she just clubs Severus over the head with the truth when he is too... bullheaded to grasp what's in front of his eyes." I couldn't keep a straight face when I was writing this scene either. I kept laughing to myself like a madwoman. It was so bad that my husband came into the office and point-blank asked me who I was torturing in my latest story. :) Yes, Minerva is a very good friend, and she is also extremely patient. Severus needed a strong dose of Minerva's special brand of common sense, otherwise, this fic would have 100 chapters instead of 35. :)

" Will he overcome this fear of his own weakness - his fear of Harry exploiting his weakness? He cannot believe that of Harry, can he? So he fears an attack from outside? Or does he fear that Harry would eventually leave him?" The problem with Severus is that he has been alone for a very long time, and his one and only previous relationship didn't end well. He is a wary soul, one who guards his heart fiercely because it is so very fragile. I can understand Severus's fears, and also your frustration with them, teryarel. It's worth to remember that Severus is a thinker, not a doer, he was never going to simply take Minerva's word for it and throw caution to the wind, and no, I'm afraid that the paths he mentions are far worse than you imagine because at least one of them involves running away. He is Slytherin after all. Retreat is always an acceptable option for them, teryarel.

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to both read and review another chapter of this story, my dear friend. Your kind, lovely and detailed comment meant the world to me. <3
