” One step back for two steps forward? The end of this chapter feels like this, at least a bit.” Yes. I agree with you on the point that this chapter feels as if the boys have taken a step back. This is an example of what I like to call the ‘growing pains’ of a relationship. There are times when our needs, our desires, don’t precisely align with those of our partner and we end up clashing because of it and finding it hard to fit properly around one another until some sort of compromise is reached. I can see Harry’s natural tendency to protect those he loves and Severus’s fierce independence being one of the main issues where they’re both somewhat correct and at the same time on polar opposite sides of the argument. They will have to work particularity hard to find common ground in this area. :)

” I do, of course, hope that Severus will somehow get Harry to treat him like a skilled, trained as well as experienced fighter. Which Harry knows, but why can't he treat the man like it?” I think that it is important to remember that Severus's ingredient-gathering excursions are bound to be an especially touchy topic for Harry at the moment. I mean, the man recently went through the trauma of almost losing Severus because he was brutally attacked by wild creatures who live in this specific woodland, so I think it’ll take him a little while to be rational about this. Hopefully, Severus will be patient with him for that long. :)

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to both read and review another chapter of this fic, teryarel. Your kind and lovely comment meant the world to me. <3
