”Ah. So, it's the owl that is the problem here, right? Even I wouldn't be happy with a 'slightly dried-up treat' and I happen to like Severus.” LOL. Of course the problem is the owl. I mean come on, since when is Severus obligated to make sure his owl treats are fresh and plump? Salazar! The sheer cheek of The Prophet’s delivery owls! It’s not like they don’t get at least one treat from every customer they visit, the greedy, feathery bastards! :) :) :)

OK. Now that you've hit the pretty button and we’re both here, let me say that I agree with you on both counts. The picture Harry chose was lovely indeed, but it was also way too intimate to share with the entire world. This level of exposure will feel very invasive to Severus. He likes to keep the truth about who he really is carefully hidden, like a treasure that he only shares with the people he finds worthy of his trust. Now the mask he uses to hide behind is broken, and everyone is aware that he knows how to laugh, has friends, can wear colors other than black, and receives Christmas gifts, just like every other human on the planet. He’ll feel terribly vulnerable, being seen like this. Harry's picture choice not only stole Severus's trusty armor away from him but also rendered it completely useless.

I love the distinction you make between ‘enduring’ what’s happening and 'persevering' through it. ” It's what I wish for Severus: Not to be passive, to endure; but to act, to yield this like a sword and a shield at once, to fight and win a better place for himself - and his Slytherins.” That is exactly what I wish for Severus too. You know that is the reason why I write snarry in the first place, and why I read it too. In all honesty, I think that is the one sentiment that unites each and every one of us, snarry nutters, under one wonderful ship. :)

Thanks, as always, for taking the time to both read and review another chapter of Chasing Moonbeams, my dear friend. Your kind and lovely comment meant the world to me. :)
