Severus offers a slightly dried-up owl treat in payment for its services. Severus huffs in amusement and slams his window closed behind the cantankerous owl. Ah. So, it's the owl that is the problem here, right? Even I wouldn't be happy with a 'slightly dried-up treat' and I happen to like Severus.
So, my dear friend, I hit the pretty button and here I am: The Statement itself is not so bad, I guess. But the Photograph. Oh. It's such a lovely picture. I guess it's too personal, too open, too raw. I love this picture of Severus but for him it must be devastating to be revealed to the public in this way. Is that what he means when he says he has no mask to hide behind?
I feel for Severus, and at the same time I want to encourage him to take this opportunity, to be be the brave man he is and... I want to say 'endure' but this would be such a negative way to look at it, perhaps it's the word Severus himself would use. But it shouldn't be about enduring, about being another bad thing that happened to him and that he has to endure and tolerate. Maybe persevere is a better word? it sounds more active to me, more like fighting against odds and come out victorious. It's what I wish for Severus: Not to be passive, to endure; but to act, to yield this like a sword and a shield at once, to fight and win a better place for himself - and his Slytherins.
