LOL. I'm sorry about scaring you with Harry's 'cool' behavior, but he was absolutely terrified that Severus would laugh at him, so yeah... he had to protect himself as much as any Gryffindor can.
Sev's decision to be the brave one, for once, -despite his own nerves- definitely paid off and now they both can enjoy their happily ever after together, kitten included. I'm glad that you weren't expecting 'kitty' to be saved, because that probably made the fact that he was all the sweeter. :D
