The Avenging Fiend.

Harry's gut started churning when Severus pushed him away. The soft lips he'd been coaxing into kiss-swollen surrender suddenly hardened, spelling disaster for his heart's besotted hopes.
“Severus...”

“This-us it can't happen, Pott-Harry.”

“Why not?  You want me. You responded to that kiss.”

“You're too good for me. I'm...”

“Don't say it. Don't you dare say it. I'm begging you, Severus.”

“Failure to acknowledge my sins won't make them disappear.”

“You did what had to be done.”

“That doesn't make everything right.”

“Nothing can make war right. But it's over. And you survived. I won't let you atone for that.”

I think Severus will have no other option but to surrender. Harry can be as stubborn as an ox when he wants to be and, in this case at least, he happens to be right, too. So yeah... I'd say our dear Sev has already lost this battle, he just doesn't know it yet, that's all. ;D

LOL. The more you stick around and read my work, the more you'll realize that I tend to favor a very particular version of Severus, one that, sadly, can get this silly very often. Thankfully my equally particular version of Harry has a knack for finding the right way to shut his Severus up, so it's a win-win situation all around. :D
